Lil' Prince Crochet Crown Pattern

To celebrate the upcoming arrival of the Royal baby (no idea whether it's a girl or a boy), I made this crocheted crown for my grandson Landon.

They're quick and easy to make and can be made to fit any noggin size, even an adult.
Just change the color of yarn for a girl's princess crown.

Ingredients:

Crochet hook to match yarn weight.  Yarn.  I used a 4mm and worsted wool.
Tapestry needle to weave in ends.

Measure the size you need.
Chain in multiples of 6.

Landon is almost 3 months old, so I made a chain of 60.
SL ST to join to the first stitch in the round.
R1:  CH1.  SC in same ST and all STS to end of round. SL ST to first SC.
R2: Repeat R1.
R3:  CH 1. SC in same ST.  *SK2 ST.  In next ST, make shell of 7 DC.  SK2 ST.  In next ST, SC.*  Repeat from *to* to end of row, SL ST to first SC to join.

R4:  SL ST in each ST to middle of first shell (4th DC in shell).  *CH 3 in 4th DC.  SL ST in same DC (picot made).  SL ST in all STS to next 4th DC in the next shell.*  Repeat from *to*.
At end of row, SL to join and fasten off.  Weave in ends.

Ta da!  Yer Royalty!
